Are you consumed with toys? Do you want to create a more purpose driven toy world for them? Are you interested in mildly Montessori ideas? Well, maybe I can help or inspire you.

First of all, less is more. My kids are way more entertained with random items in the kitchen or a single multi-purposeful toy. I will link a few below that my children currently love!

I believe the key to a good day is a day filled with fun while learning. Thankfully, my kids are still at an age where play is learning! I’m very intimidated with homeschool because that is a whole new dynamic for my relationship to my kids.

Alright so lets talk organization because the key to learning while have fun is being prepped and organized. I am not perfect at this and struggle daily with new ideas on better ways to achieve goals for my kids. But in the end, I hope they learn achieve their goals. I do direct them in independent play. I am constantly reminding my oldest (3 years) that I am excited to see what she can create. She is still young and needs direction, but with a well prepped space she can play independently.

Alright so after all that I want to layout some ideas I’m currently practicing.

Hot Items: These are my Big Items – doll houses, shopping carts, car ramps etc. Bigger items that can’t fit in a bin. They are randomly brought out to entertain the girls when I need 15 minutes to get something done. Typically, I rotate through them every few days.

Mixed-Up Bins: These are a mix-match of puzzles, balls, musical toys etc. Essentially toys that fit in a bin and I need to rotate so the kids can be excited after they have been gone for a while. I prefer large, clear bins in order to see what is inside easily.

Learning Zone: This is a separate area I rotate toys that are more Montessori driven. They cause more open play with a single item that I pend as educational. This may include random items from dollar tree that I know they can manipulate however they choose.

Hidden Throw-Outs: These are magnets, leap frog toys etc. Again, single items I want access to at all times because they are adored but don’t want the kids to have access to them at all times just to keep them excited about the toys also so they don’t get lost all over the house.

I have a craft zone as well, but that is a whole other process; that I don’t fully understand yet either. Other than I love bins to organize prepared crafts or sensory bins.

If you love organization, lets chat, I need all the ideas!
